3. _A_d_d_i_t_i_o_n_a_l__F_D_D_I_X_P_r_e_s_s__I_n_f_o_r_m_a_t_i_o_n
This chapter contains information about changes and bug
fixes for FDDIXPress between releases 3.4 and 3.6, and known
problems in the current release.
3.1 _C_h_a_n_g_e_s__a_n_d__A_d_d_i_t_i_o_n_s
+o Thjere is a possible workaround for IPG board problems
with floods of void frames. See "ipg_prom_mode" in
/var/sysgen/master.d/if_ipg.
+o Single keystrokes can switch among interfaces in
_s_m_t_s_t_a_t -_s.
+o _S_m_t_r_i_n_g -_I now works.
3.2 _K_n_o_w_n__S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e__P_r_o_b_l_e_m_s__a_n_d__W_o_r_k_a_r_o_u_n_d_s
Release 3.4 has the following performance problems:
+o On an unstable ring with a lot of ``claims'' and
``beacons,'' frame error ratio and uncopied error ratio
are bogus.
+o The _s_m_t_p_i_n_g -_s command does not support packet data
sizes greater than 1385 bytes. Attempts to generate
packets with data between 1386 and 4436 bytes cause two
error messages: Error building packet and Can't get
response from daemon. (The creation of ECHO packets
with data larger than 4436 bytes results in packets
that exceed the FDDI MTU, causing the message packet
size too large.)
+o Timestamp displays for the start of SMT statistics
keeping (_s_m_t_s_t_a_t -_s) do not work in 'r' and 'z' modes.
+o Only 4 FDDI interfaces are supported. For example
combinations of a total of more than 4 XPI and IPG
interfaces do not work.
